Realpolitikin, by Katzenjammer Games Ltd. — Effective July 28, 2026

Overview

Realpolitikin is a mobile strategy game published by Katzenjammer Games Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what information Realpolitikin collects, how we use it, and the choices you have — whether you're playing a fully offline solo game or joining an online match with other players.

If you just want the short version: we collect what's needed to run fair multiplayer games (an account identifier, the nickname you choose, and your in-game activity), we don't sell your personal information, and you can play entirely offline without creating an account at all.

Information We Collect

Account information

To play online multiplayer, you sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or as an anonymous guest. Depending on the method you choose, this may give us your name and email address (Apple's private relay email if you choose to hide your address), or nothing beyond an anonymous device-linked identifier if you play as a guest.

Profile information

The nickname you choose is visible to other players in lobbies, game boards, and chat — don't use anything you wouldn't want another player to see.

Gameplay data

Game state, the orders you submit each turn, and in-game negotiation messages you send to other players are stored so multiplayer games can be resolved fairly and so you and other participants can see game history.

Fair-play & reliability data

To keep multiplayer games running smoothly, we track basic reliability signals per account: games played, games finished, games abandoned, and whether — and why — a host has kicked you from a game. This is used only to support host tools and matchmaking fairness, never sold or used for advertising.

Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we store a device notification token so we can send you things like turn reminders. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.

Purchases

If Realpolitikin offers optional in-app purchases or subscriptions (for example, to unlock AI-personality opponents), those purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play and administered on our behalf by RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your purchase and entitlement status — we never see or store your payment card details.

How We Use It

  • Running your games. Orders and negotiation messages are used to resolve turns and keep every player's game board in sync.
  • Keeping multiplayer fair. Reliability data powers host tools like kicking players who go inactive mid-game.
  • Powering AI opponents. Personality-driven bot opponents read in-game messages to decide their own moves — see AI Opponents below.
  • Notifications. Letting you know it's your turn, if you've opted in.
  • Support. Responding to questions or issues you send us.
  • Improving the app. Understanding what's breaking or worth building next.

AI Opponents

Some multiplayer seats can be filled by AI-personality bots instead of human players. In games that include one of these bots, the in-game negotiation messages and orders visible to that bot are sent to our AI infrastructure provider, Groq, to generate the bot's own moves and responses. This happens only for the specific game turns where an AI bot is present in your game — not for purely human games, and not for solo offline play against the simpler heuristic (non-AI-personality) bots.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of service providers to run Realpolitikin. We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

  • Firebase (Google). Authentication, our multiplayer database, server-side game resolution (Cloud Functions), and push notification delivery.
  • Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In. Optional account sign-in methods, if you choose them over playing as a guest.
  • Groq. Processes in-game negotiation content for the games and turns where an AI-personality opponent is present, as described above.
  • RevenueCat, Apple, and Google. Process and administer optional in-app purchases, if and when they're offered.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above, as needed to operate Realpolitikin, or when required to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of our players.

Retention & Deletion

We keep your account and game history for as long as your account is active, so you can see past games and so multiplayer fair-play tracking stays meaningful. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us — see Contact.

Children's Privacy

Realpolitikin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Your Choices

  • Play offline. Solo games against heuristic bots work entirely on your device, with no account required.
  • Access or delete your data. Email us to request a copy of your data or to delete your account.
  • Notifications. Turn them off any time in your device's notification settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including access-controlled cloud infrastructure and server-side game resolution. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Realpolitikin changes — for example, if we introduce new features or services. We'll update the effective date above when we do. If changes are significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let players know in-app.
